Worked a lot more on this commission, not sure if completed. Have to do a little touch up on edge of art paper and then stand back and study for awhile. This started as an acrylic painting layering in all the objects, darks and lights then I switched to oil to put on the finishing detail. The oil really made the colors pop.
Because of the area I live in I decided to do some fun farm animal paintings.
Larry and Moe the mules( Curly is there also just to short to see over the door), Charlotte the pig, Wake up, the rooster, and Dead Head, the horse. Working on a cow but some work to go. He is a hard one.
This was a request from a client for me to do a 3 D painting. She sent me the photos of her horses and asked me to do something on this order. Well I am working on it and this is where I am at this point. Trying to make an animal look like he is jumping out of a picture is a little tricky but I think I am getting it there. This is a great learning experience. I have this clay bowl my daughter made in college and thought it would make a great water container. This is just the beginning, colors washed in, as you will notice no mane or tails are there, background only partial color. When finished I hope it looks like a print over a mantle with horses running out of it to get a drink She also had a photo of her mare and colt which is the one drinking and the colt behind her to right.
