here is a commission I am working on, it is an aerial photo/painting of their family farm, a sibling wanted one also but the company is out of business so they have asked me to paint one for them as it has been sold and many of the buildings are gone. Here is the original and my work in progress of it.
All dressed up for the night. Wondering if her partner is joining her. This is going to be a beautiful woman in her party attire walking through a door into the night. She is looking back over her shoulder to see where he is! Doesn't that sound familiar?
This is a work in progress just have some basics started.
I finished the Dancer and will get a photo taken and place it online and now I am working on Ballerina, this has a soft pinkish/lavender textured background and will start working to finish her now, again I started this in acrylics and will work her lights and shadows in with acrylic and then go all over it in oils and put in all the detail. I find this takes longer but I think the finished product is better. I enjoy doing this if I am working from a photograph.
This is what I am working on now, I started this in acrylics and will now work oils over it. This makes the acrylics be the primer for the painting. There is a long way to go but I think it will be a wild painting. Lots of pop, at least that is what I am hoping to accomplish. I really like using a dark background and adding a bright teal as it makes the teal really jump out. This is a 24 X 36 with edges finished, ready to hang so frame is not necessary. When I get this finished I have another sketched in of a ballerina which I find intriguing. On both of these I am using a texture in the background to add some depth.
Keep checking back for the completed painting.
