Well in Inspired art by k's studio it is! I am painting another cabin in the woods during the winter and when I am finished with it the painting will have snow flakes falling. These are so much fun. I am painting this one in acrylics, trying to get it finished to take to Corydon bank display but doubt if finished.
My Grandson is playing JV and Varsity baseball and of coarse Grandma can't miss a game, I am so proud of him, about the only thing he hasn't played is catcher. He really likes first base but coach uses him wherever he needs him, even pitcher.
So right now I am painting around his baseball schedule.
Thursday I will take a bunch of paintings to the Corydon bank for June display but Wed evening is baseball in Lenox, a double header!
Will try to add some photos of my display later in week at the bank.
well show is over, it was cold and windy but my tent held up fine. It started out with a lot of lookers but ended up with several sales just before closing so it was a good day. I am glad it wasn't a long show due to the weather. Now I getting ready to display at the Corydon State Bank in Corydon, IA for the month of June. Trying to figure out how many and what to take. I sure had a lot of compliments on my latest acrylic Private Property, my oils Coutryside Sunset, God's Country, and my paintings with horses. All in all it was a good show and I listened to the people what they liked their comments, you learn a lot that way.
I am now all loaded with my art, display walls, tent, and misc. tools. The problem is it is going to be cool and breezy. Breezy doesn't work with tents and paintings when it is on concrete and you can't stake it down. Will have to see how bad it is tomorrow to set up at this show. I will be very disappointed if it is too windy. This will be the first tent show I have done with paintings. But I am very fortunate, I have a husband, son, and two older grandchildren to help me set this up. I don't know what I would do without my families help. Hope it is a warmer non windy day and see you all there!
I will be displaying art in the entry/lobby of the Corydon State Bank 201 W Jackson in Corydon, IA for the month of June. They had asked me quite some time ago but we finally agreed on June to do this. Hope you all can visit the bank and see my art display. All will be for sale. Should have room for a descent size display of my paintings.
Well, I have been working hard to get the major part of my website finished, still have a few photos to finish retaking and one of her major concerns was my photo. I was told it is blurry and I need to either put a better one or a video of me painting. Haven't decided yet what to do but will get that done also.
In the mean time I added a couple of new paintings City Harbor at Night which is abstract and a Flock of Sheep.
I have also been adding more paintings to my facebook shop. I have everything on this site but didn't have all my paintings on my facebook.
Working on a 24 X 30 now, I am laying it out in acrylics and trying to determine if I want to finish in acrylics or now paint it with oils. Here is what I have started. A very snow covered wooded area with a lone cabin, plan on keeping the colors to a bare minimal except for the cabin.
I am reworking my website, adding some more info and taking new photos of my art work. I have been told by a professional that my photos need some tweaking, some are a little blurry and problems with the paintings in frames. So I am trying to bring it up to the level it should be and at the same time trying to get ready for my first showing of the year 5-21 at Historic Valley Junction, W. Des Moines.. I sure hope to see you all there. And please keep checking my website and let me know if it looks better.
Decided to do a couple of rodeo theme impressionistic paintings this is one I am working on now, got a long way to go
Friday morning I went to Murray School's art fair, it was about 7 or 8 schools there. I did 4 40 minute demonstrations of wet on wet technique. Had so much fun, a couple of the students asked for 2 of my paintings that was interested in that style of painting. Hope to have that chance again.
I love to paint and talk about art by Karen Johnson
