I keep working on this but still not finished. Have to do a lot of fine tuning, I think, give me your thoughts
Art for the wild is put on by Blank Park Zoo to raise money. I donated 2 paintings below after being asked by the Osceola Arts Council if I would. Thursday night in Des Moines is the event, my husband, David, isn't up to going so our son Traer is going to accompany his mother. He has been very helpful to me with critiquing my paintings. He has his masters from WM Penn college major in earth science and minor in art. He also is very handy in helping with art standards etc for shows.
I keep working on this slowly in between other paintings. Started her red dress and have been tweaking the faces a little more. Will keep painting until I am satified with the look!
give me your opinion? Looking at the photo her hand is not in the dress, wrong!!!! Have to fix that.
For any of you older ones you might remember these. So much fun. What do you think of the idea and concept?
I have started a cityscape on black canvas using greys with a splash of blue and red. I find these colors eye catching and leave you wondering what is in the dark, a homeless person, shoppers, or just a quiet night in the city? I am at a standstill now, trying to figure out where to go with it. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
well here is the finished product, I get such a feel of freedom from this painting. When I find myself feeling crowded I can just look into this painting and get the feel of open spaces,
I have lived all over this country and find everything is beautiful in one way or another. I am fascinated with animals as you can see from my website. This painting was inspired by the open range, we have cattle and each year move them from place to place, however we do it by 4 wheelers and I would prefer doing it by horse but age has caught up with me and horses are a struggle so I decided to paint what I would like to do.
I love to paint and talk about art by Karen Johnson
